Meeting with Pn.Badariah....

Our group managed to have a meeting with pn.badariah on last friday(23/03/2007) at 9.00am. We showed puan our portal and she is quite satisfied with it but still there are some changes need to made. Puan also do suggest us to come out with user manual. We had our group meeting after that and a follow up meeting with pn.badariah already agreed among our group members, but the date is not yet confirmed. Another few group meetings for us to finalise up everything regarding our portal, then our portal should be ok.

Make use of time for group discussion...

Since that we dont have any classes on the coming weeks... We will use those time for our group discussion to design the portal. We decided to use Joomla for designing. It takes quite a long time and we faced some obstacles..We approached our friends that are more familiar with portal designing for help. Hopefully we can come out with something(draft portal) in time so that we can meet up with pn.badariah for comments and remarks..

Presentation on next thursday?

With so many mid-terms, test 2 and assignments to cope up with... Is it that every group can manage to finish up the last part of the presentation in time? But then since nobody voiced it out... Our group again will pray for the miracles to happen in this 2 weeks...

A mess....

What a mess over here...... Sigh......:p

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

It's your birthday and I really wish

For your birthday i'm sending you a gift from my heart
A gift that always belongs to you only
A gift that I hope you will treasure the rest of your life
I'm sending you my purest love, kisses and my prayers

You're always in my mind and my heart
You're what I'm dreaming of day and night
Only you have the key to my heart
May you only remember the good times
And forget the sorrow and pain you had in life
For behind the clouds is a golden sun
And a sky that's bright and blue

There's so much good about you
And your faults are very few
I hope you have the best birthday ever
May all your birthday wishes come true
Success and happiness be yours forever
In whatever you do as you're always the best

what we study today

today we study about the system testing process.

it consist of several steps in testing a system.
  1. function testing
  2. performance testing
  3. acceptance testing
  4. installation testing.

for further detail i'll upload after i read the chapter hehe

hai everyone..

>> now our SRS presentation is over..
>> our friend here, Leena did a very good job, presenting our SRS..
>> anyway it was nice standing beside her seeing Tan and pria helping..
>> before that, Tan and Ranjeet motivating her, it was nice.. It shows how caring they are towards the group work..
>> pria too, motivated her before the presentation starts..
>> hey.. now the presentation is over with good marks i guess.. Thank you, Pn Badariah for your kind support..
>> I like this group.... all my group mates la, of course..

>> special message for Ranjeet(sorry, i din cut cake yet.. maybe in April not confirm yet..)
>> will you be coming if i call you to Ipoh when i'm celebrating my birthday??(Tan, Ranjeet and Pria).. Leena definately will come because same kampung...

Group discusssion

Since we had finished with our SRS presentation and we get a good mark for it. The marks motivated us as a team to work harder and achieve our objective. Each of the group members is asked to look into the website for the suitable content management system to be used for designing our portal. And at the same time, our group also try to figure out which colour is the most preferred for (fonts, background, banner and etc). And before that, based on the last interview with pn.badariah, we knew that she is in favour with the maxis website. So, we can get some ideas on how the portal will look like.

SRS presentation

First of all, I would like to thank Pn Badariah for giving us, her fullest cooperation, in completing our group SRS doc. All her comments and advice are very much appreciated.

Secondly, would like to congratulate Leena Devi for doing a good job in presenting MYSESITE's group presentation. Before the presentation, she was having sleepness night and fear in public speaking but she still managed to stand infront of the class and delivered her best. Thank you very much for being a good team member.

By the way, the credit also goes to all other team members for doing a superb job and not forgetting the group leader, Tan, whos been pushing us to complete our individual task, on time.

Lastly, happy birthday to Premalar. Bila potong kek tu, don't forget to tapau our share.

Friday, 2 March 2007

Remarks after 2nd presentation.

# Something that made us very proud was, Leena did very well as a presenter and it is believed that our group’s presentation was the one, which has the minimum error (Tan's feeling will never betray him)- by Shakespeare.

# All of us were very happy because all our hard works were paid off.

# We indeed a good group because although we were having tough time trying to complete the SRS, on the other hand, we were really enjoying, having fun and learning a lot of new stuffs regarding the SRS and how to work as a group.

# Of course there were some misunderstandings occurs during this period, but all that are the stepping stones for all of us to improve and experience new way of looking at a problem.

# So, i would like to take this opportunity to thank all our group mates who worked really hard and made our second presentation a successful one. (Thanks buddies).

Outcome of the interview with Pn.Badariah

Since our group SRS's progress is not up to our expectation, we decided to approach puan with what we had done for her help. Even though she was busy with her work, she was kind enough to spend some precious time to go through our SRS document.

And to our expectations, there are a lot comments from our beloved lecturer and lots of undone stuff that needs follow up from us. We have less than 20 hours to go for our group presentation.

We really appreciate her valuable comments and since we are in the learning stages, is good enough that pn.badariah can guide us throughout the whole preparations.

hai..

>> we have a meeting today with Pn. Badariah at 11a.m..
>> just a reminder..
>> meet you guys in 4th floor..

Meeting with Pn.Badariah and group discussion

Tan and Ranjeet make their first move to meet Pn.badariah in her room for further advises and comments on our srs draft. We badly need help since we just back from our holiday and nothing much had been done and we believe that anyhow also there will be something lack or missing part in our SRS. Pn.Badariah gave them superb comments which makes them motivated and have the spirit of fighting and finishing up the remaining part of our srs.

Later on ranjeet briefed us on what pn.badariah had commented. And we been given specific task to finish up the srs and patch up the unfinished part. Work had to be done quickly and efficiently since we are asking for another meeting with pn.badariah for viewing again on our srs on wednesday and Puan already agree with that.

Group discussion ended up with everybody feeling nervous and anxious with the enormous undone work in our hand. TOC,DFD,ERD,WBS, functional requirements and etc..

Saturday, 24 February 2007

hai..

holidays are over now.. we have to prepare for our presentation.. all the best guys..
take care.. see you soon..

>> what is your plan for holidays?
>> we have lots of thing to do..
>> SE portal, data comm presentation, data comm quiz, OS assignment1, data struct project1..
>>Oh God.. that's many things to do........
>>we have to finish up all within a week... how is that possible..
>>whatever it is we have to make it possible.. am i right???

Distribution of work for SRS.

We had a meeting and discussion about the SRS documentations today. Since we will be having a mid-semester holiday and we wont be meeting each other during the holiday,we decided to distribute the work among 5 of us.

Me,Pria and leena will be doing on the introductions, general descriptions,DFD and ERD part. While ranjeet and Tan will be covering the rest which is specific requirements, system design and appendix part.

It should be a tough job since we are lack of time and in the holiday mood.

Frens out there ans my question !! Who can read both the conceptual and technical design??
A) Customers
B) Other or Another system developers
C) Users
D) System builders
Ans: B.....
2.Then what we do in designing part?? after our requirement analysis?
Designing is the descriptions of solutions before we do implementation..
anything else..do include in comments.. tc

hey i got puan badariah's photo

Great fun..

Well, this is something about the last saturday's Personal Grooming Seminar. For me, it was a superb experience and gained a lot.. But besides that..what other stuffs which reminds me was all the jokes and fun we had with Tan...emmm thanks for companying us....it was fun that day.

Considerations for producing a good SRS

Nature of the SRS
The SRS is a specification for a particular software product, program, or set of programs that performs certain functions in a speciÞc environment. The SRS may be written by one or more representatives of the supplier, one or more representatives of the customer, or by both.

The basic issues that the SRS writer(s) shall address are the following:

a)Functionality.
What is the software supposed to do?
b)External interfaces.
How does the software interact with people, the systemÕs hardware, other hardware, and other software?
c)Performance.
What is the speed, availability, response time, recovery time of various software functions, etc.?
d)Attributes.
What are the portability, correctness, maintainability, security, etc. considerations?
e)Design constraints imposed on an implementation.
Are there any required standards in effect, implementation language, policies for database integrity, resource limits, operating environment(s) etc.?

The SRS writer(s) should avoid placing either design or project requirements in the SRS.

Ooooh.......Leena...

Ohhhh.....

Yesterday( 3rd of February, Saturday ). I went for the personal grooming seminar, and suprisingly i met Pria, Premala and leena... And here comes the story, nobody ever mention where is ranjeet except for leena. She asked me where is Ranjeet.. oooohhh.....speechless..... Ranjeet, seems like you are not forgotten... You are still in leena's mind...

P/S : Somehow if let say one day i didnt go for SE class, Leena... Will you ask where am i or not ? You better ask ya.... dont pilih kasih....

Wednesday, 31 January 2007

hello

hi everyone. wat you all think about the format of the final exam that puan badariah discuss that day in our lecture class... give some comment of yours... i like 30%multiple choice and the rest is short answers which is about 70%

Hai..

Hai, everyone what you have learn in SE class on Tuesday? we have learn new things right about the SRS. Anyway the last class was more fun. We was doing about the diagram remember? It was a new thing for us to right. Anyway, i would like to post something about the class later ok. This Thursday, we would not be having SE class because of holiday. What would you guys will be doing?
I need help.. How to study SE?????? Can help? got any tips????

Tuesday, 23 January 2007

what we studied today!!!

Characteristics of a good SRS
  1. Correct - An SRS is correct if, and only if, every requirement stated therein is one that the software shall meet.
  2. Unambiguous - An SRS is unambiguous if, and only if, every requirement stated therein has only one interpretation. As a
minimum, this requires that each characteristic of the Þnal product be described using a single unique term.
  3. Complete -
    a)
All signiÞcant requirements, whether relating to functionality, performance, design constraints, attributes, or external interfaces. In particular any external requirements imposed by a system specification should be acknowledged and treated.
    b) Defnition of the responses of the software to all realizable classes of input data in all realizable
classes of situations. Note that it is important to specify the responses to both valid and invalid input
    values.
    c) Full labels and references to all fgures, tables, and diagrams in the SRS and defnition of all terms
    and units of measure
  4. Consistent - Consistency refers to internal consistency. If an SRS does not agree with some higher-level document, such as a system requirements specification, then it is not correct
  5. Ranked for importance and/or stability - An SRS is ranked for importance and/or stability if each requirement in it has an identiÞer to indicate either
the importance or stability of that particular requirement.
  6. Verifiable - An SRS is verifiable if, and only if, every requirement stated therein is verifiable. A requirement is verifiable if, and only if, there exists some finite cost-effective process with which a person or machine can check that the software product meets the requirement. In general any ambiguous requirement is not verifiable.
  7. Modifiable - An SRS is modiÞable if, and only if, its structure and style are such that any changes to the requirements can
be made easily, completely, and consistently while retaining the structure and style. ModiÞability generally
    requires an SRS to
    a) Have a coherent and easy-to-use organization with a table of contents, an index, and explicit crossreferencing;
    b) Not be redundant (i.e., the same requirement should not appear in more than one place in the SRS);
    c) Express each requirement separately, rather than intermixed with other requirements.
  8. Traceable - An SRS is traceable if the origin of each of its requirements is clear and if it facilitates the referencing of
each requirement in future development or enhancement documentation. The following two types of traceability are recommended:

    a) Backward traceability (i.e., to previous stages of development).
    This depends upon each requirement
explicitly referencing its source in earlier documents.
    b) Forward traceability (i.e., to all documents spawned by the SRS).
    This depends upon each requirement
in the SRS having a unique name or reference number.
The forward traceability of the SRS is especially important when the software

Waterfall Model

The model consist of six distinct stages, namely:

1.In the requirements analysis phase

(a)The problem is specified along with the desired service objectives (goals)

(b)The constraints are identified

2.In the specification phase the system specification is produced from the detailed definitions of (a) and (b) above. This document should clearly define the product function.

Note that in some text, the requirements analysis and specifications phases are combined and represented as a single phase.

3.In the system and software design phase, the system specifications are translated into a software representation. The software engineer at this stage is concerned with:

·Data structure

·Software architecture

·Algorithmic detail and

·Interface representations

The hardware requirements are also determined at this stage along with a picture of the overall system architecture. By the end of this stage the software engineer should be able to identify the relationship between the hardware, software and the associated interfaces. Any faults in the specification should ideally not be passed ‘down stream’

4.In the implementation and testing phase stage the designs are translated into the software domain

·Detailed documentation from the design phase can significantly reduce the coding effort.

·Testing at this stage focuses on making sure that any errors are identified and that the software meets its required specification.

5.In the integration and system testing phase all the program units are integrated and tested to ensure that the complete system meets the software requirements. After this stage the software is delivered to the customer [Deliverable – The software product is delivered to the client for acceptance testing.]

6.The maintenance phase the usually the longest stage of the software. In this phase the software is updated to:

·Meet the changing customer needs

·Adapted to accommodate changes in the external environment

·Correct errors and oversights previously undetected in the testing phases

·Enhancing the efficiency of the software

Observe that feed back loops allow for corrections to be incorporated into the model. For example a problem/update in the design phase requires a ‘revisit’ to the specifications phase. When changes are made at any phase, the relevant documentation should be updated to reflect that change.

Advantages
·Testing is inherent to every phase of the waterfall model

.It is an enforced disciplined approach

·It is documentation driven, that is, documentation is produced at every stage

Disadvantages
The waterfall model is the oldest and the most widely used paradigm.
However, many projects rarely follow its sequential flow. This is due to the inherent problems associated with its rigid format. Namely:

·It only incorporates iteration indirectly, thus changes may cause considerable confusion as the project progresses.

·As The client usually only has a vague idea of exactly what is required from the software product, this WM has difficulty accommodating the natural uncertainty that exists at the beginning of the project.

·The customer only sees a working version of the product after it has been coded. This may result in disaster if any undetected problems are precipitated to this stage.

Hai Everyone!!

As a reminder to all of you out there, we have a presentation about our blog tomorrow in the class. Its at 8am to 10am. Take note of it. Thank you.

Husband vs Wife

RELATIVES

A couple drove down a country road for several miles, not saying a word. An earlier discussion had led to an argument and neither of them wanted to concede their position. As they passed a barnyard of mules, goats, and pigs, the husband asked sarcastically, "Relatives of yours?"

"Yep," the wife replied, "In-laws."

WORDS

A husband read an article to his wife about how many words women use a day... 30,000 to a man's 15,000. The wife replied, "The reason has to be because we have to repeat everything to men...

The husband then turned to his wife and asked, "What?"

CREATION

A man said to his wife one day, "I don't know how you can be so stupid and so beautiful all at the same time. "

The wife responded, "Allow me to explain. God made me beautiful so you would be attracted to me; God made me stupid so I would be attracted to you!

WHO DOES WHAT

A man and his wife were having an argument about who should brew the coffee each morning.

The wife said, "You should do it, because you get up first, and then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee."

The husband said, " You are in charge of cooking around here and you should do it, because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee." Wife replies, "No, you should do it, and besides, it is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee."

Husband replies, "I can't believe that, show me."

So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New Testament and showed him at the top of several pages, that it indeed says.......... "HEBREWS"

THE SILENT TREATMENT

A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each other the silent treatment. Suddenly, the man realized that the next day, he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00AM for an early morning business flight. Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper, "Please wake me at 5:00 AM."

He left it where he knew she would find it.The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and he had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't wakened him, when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed. The paper said, "It is 5:00 AM. Wake up."

Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests.

God may have created man before woman, but there is always a rough draft before the masterpiece.

JOKE: All I Need Is A Miracle

A woman was walking along the beach when she stumbled upon a genie's lamp. She picked it up and rubbed it. Lo-and-behold a genie appeared. The amazed woman asked if she got three wishes.

The Genie said, "Nope. Due to inflation, constant downsizing, low wages in third-world countries and fierce global competition, I can only grant you one wish. So, what'll it be?"

The woman didn't hesitate. She said, "I want peace in the Middle East. See this map? I want these countries to stop fighting with each other".

The Genie looked at the map and exclaimed, "Gadzooks, lady! These countries have been at war for thousands of years. I'm good, but not THAT good! I don't think it can be done. Make another wish."

The woman thought for a minute. She said, "Well, I've been trying to find the right husband. You know, one that's considerate and fun, likes to cook and helps with the housecleaning, has a great sense of humor and gets along with my family, doesn't watch sports all the time and is faithful. That's what I wish for. A good mate."

The Genie let out a long sigh and said, "Let me see that map again."

Ever Wondered?

Why the sun lightens our hair, but darkens our skin?

Why women can't put on mascara with their mouth closed?

Why don't you ever see the headline "Psychic Wins Lottery"?

Why is "abbreviated" such a long word?

Why is it that doctors call what they do "practice"?

Why is it that to stop Windows 98, you have to click on "Start"?

Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?

Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?

Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?

Why isn't there mouse-flavored cat food?

When dog food is new and improved tasting, who tests it?

Why didn't Noah swat those two mosquitoes?

Why do they sterilize the needle for lethal injections?

You know that indestructible black box that is used on airplanes? Why don't they make the whole plane out of that stuff?

Why don't sheep shrink when it rains?

Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?

If flying is so safe, why do they call the airport the terminal?

If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of progress?

JOKE FOR TODAY PEOPLE

HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY IT!!!!

One Student: " Because George still had the axe in is hand."

Life is short but a smile takes barelya second.
Every tear has a smile behind it.
A smile is a curve that setseverything straight.

A good neighbour is a fellow who smilesat you over the back fence, butdoesn't climb over it.
If you see a friend without a smile;give him one of yours.
A smile starts on the lips, A grinspreads to the eyes, A chuckle comesfrom the belly; But a good laughbursts forth from the soul, Overflows, and bubbles all around
Because of your smile, you make lifemore beautiful.
Too often we underestimate the powerof a smile, which have the potentialto turn a life around.
Smiles are the language of love.
The real man smiles in trouble, gathers strength from distress, andgrows brave by reflection.

A smile is an inexpensive way tochange your looks

All people smile in the samelanguage..
Children smile on the average 400times /day; Adults: 15 times/day. Everwonder why?
A warm smile is the universal languageof kindness.
If I thought that a smile of mine, might linger the whole day through andlighten some heart with a heavierpart, I'd not withhold it -- Wouldyou? ??
Smile becoz God gave Human thisbeautiful gift - A Smile....Isometimes wonder do animals have thisbeautiful gift of smiling???
Smile, not becoz it costs you or not,but because you can make someone smileand make their day
So Smileeeeeee please :-)) ......Hmmm... Good, looks very good, infactsuits you the best :-)

You're such a great friend,

You're such a great person,

Hello! How Are You?

Have you ever noticed
When people say, "Hello"They ask,
"How are you"
Then on their way they go

They wait not for an answer
And they don't seem to care
So let me ask you this
Why was the question there

I know it's a formality
To many folks today
They think it is polite
And the only thing to say

I don't think they understand
The damage that this does
When asked why they do it
They simply answer, "Because"

Some don't even realize
That they even do it
They think they'll listen later
When they get around to it

If someone approached you today
And asked, "How's your friend"
Would you have an answer
Or would you stutter to an end

When you say, "How are you"
Is that simply an extension of "Hi"
Or do you really want to know
What's going to be their reply

It's been said of acquaintances
That they just say it and go
But friends will always wait
So your wellness they can know

But may I share this observance
That I have found so true
A BEST friend already knows
When he asks, "How are you"

YOU ARE ???????????

You are strong....
when you take your grief and teach it to smile.

You are brave....
when you overcome your fear and help others to do the same.

You are happy...
when you see a flower and are thankful for the blessing.

You are loving...
when your own pain does not blind you to the pain of others.

You are wise...
when you know the limits of your wisdom.

You are true...
when you admit there are times you fool yourself.

You are alive...
when tomorrow's hope means more to you than yesterday's mistake.

You are growing...
when you know what you are but not what you will become.

You are free...
when you are in control of yourself and do not wish to control others.

You are honorable...
when you find your honor is to honor others.

You are generous...
when you can take as sweetly as you can give.

You are humble...
when you do not know how humble you are.

You are thoughtful...
when you see me just as I am and treat me just as you are

You are merciful...
when you forgive in others the faults you condemn in yourself

You are beautiful...
when you don't need a mirror to tell you

You are rich...
when you never need more than what you have

You are you...
when you are at peace with who you are not

For ur info...... Road tax &&& Toll rate

THINK !!!!!!!!

Road Tax Reduce & Toll Rise in Malaysia.
Road Tax Reduce
Some Malaysian is very happy with the Road Tax Reduce...
Let we; have a look at the simple calculation below...
E.g.
Road Tax Reduce = RM50 for 1 year
For per day = RM50/365
= RM0.1370/day (WAU!!!!!! What a big saving for Malaysian)
Syabas !!! To our Government!!!
Toll Rise
Imagine a person is using Kesas Highway from Klang To K.L. (To & From)
(That's mean - using a full package on this Highway)
Past Toll Rate = RM1.50 per toll x 6 tolls = RM9.00 per day
Present Toll Rate = RM2.20 per toll x 6 tolls = RM13.20 per day
Different = RM0.70 per toll
For 1 day = RM0.70 x 6 tolls (To & From)
= RM4.20 / day
Normal Working Days for Normal Person = 240days / year
For One Year = 240days x RM4.20
= RM1008.00 (Different - Old & Present)
If in full Calculation = RM13.20/day x 240 days
= RM3,168 per year
But Some Crazy Guyz Work for 365 days / year
For One Year = 365days x RM4.20
= RM1533.00 (Different - Old & Present)
If in full Calculation = RM13.20/day x 365 days
= RM4,818 per year
For others toll ; you can calculate on your own... using the same method
If Average Malaysian Salary is RM2000.00/mth. (For easy calculationpurpose)
That's means he/she will be spending his/her 2 months salary / yearjust to pay on his toll.
Syabas !!! To all Malaysian....

MOTHER

time to laugh:)

A young man was walking through a supermarket to pick up a few things when he noticed an old lady following him around. Thinking nothing of it, he ignored her and continued on.

Eventually he arrived at the checkout line, where the old lady cut in front of him. "Pardon me," she said, then, a few seconds later, "I"m sorry if my staring at you has made you feel uncomfortable. It"s just that you look just like my son, who I haven"t seen in a long time."

"That"s a shame," replied the young man, "Is there anything I can do for you?"

"Yes," she said, "As I"m leaving, could you say, "Good bye, Mother?" It would make me feel so much better."

"Sure," answered the young man.

As the old woman was leaving, he called out, "Good-bye, Mother!"

As he stepped up to the checkout counter, he saw that his total was $227.95. "How can that be?" he asked, "I only purchased a few things!"

"Your mother said that you would pay for her," said the clerk.
